The stacked Peltier design allows measurements according to ASTM D7094 with oven temperatures as low as −40 °C, and the cooling speed of the instrument was increased by approximately 35%. With ERAFLASH LT, simple low-temperature flash point testing is possible without the need to cool the equipment with dry ice or other substances.

The ERAFLASH LT flash point tester is also equipped with a coolant valve that automatically shuts the coolant flow off if not needed. This helps to eliminate condensation of humidity on the cooler. Ice formation on the oven surface during the cool-down period is prevented by using a cooling cup that shields the surface from the ambient air.

With the distinct capability to incorporate both a high temperature and low temperature module, this singular analyzer can cover a temperature range from -25C to 420C with only 1-2mL of sample per test.

To complete a test, the device produces an electric arc in a closed chamber to determine at which temperature the arc ignites the sample vapor, which is measured by the pressure change observed in ignition. Another feature of the ERAFLASH is the built-in unknown sample screen test which can quickly cover a wide range of temperatures to hone in on the specific flash point of unidentifiable samples or samples with unknown flash points.
